Code of Conduct
MyRec has been created for you, the Recruiter.
Whether you are hiring, referring people you know or applying directly for a job, MyRec is a fun and, more importantly, fair place to earn thousands of pounds in rewards, attract top talent and secure great jobs.
We want Referrers to earn big rewards for successfully referring friends and contacts into recruitment jobs.
We want Employers to get their hands on great recruitment talent, at a fraction of the cost of conventional Rec-to-Rec fees, or no fee at all if the Candidate applies direct.
And we want Job Seekers and Candidates to land great jobs in the recruitment space.
This is your Code. If everyone acts with integrity and fairness, we are all winners
Referrers
Make sure you know who you’re referring
We want you to earn as many rewards as possible so only refer people whom you know to vacancies. If you don’t think they’ll remember you, get on the phone and re-introduce yourself. Otherwise they’ll just reject your invitation, accept someone else’s or apply direct. And you won’t get the reward. Very annoying!
Have confidence that your introductions can do the job
As a Referrer, you want to build a reputation for strong introductions. Strong introductions make placements and placements make you money. We’ve done everything we can to ensure you get your rewards but you need to do your bit too. Make sure you match your referrals closely to the job vacancies on MyRec and you’ll maximise your likelihood of making a placement and getting the reward.
Keep on top of your referrals
As with your own candidate process management, keep in contact with your referrals and make sure you know where they are at each stage of the process. We’ve provided you with your own “dashboard” in your MyRec account page where the Employer will update the process in order for you to keep track. If you’re not sure what’s happening with your referral, pick up the phone and ask them!
Employers
Make sure you create the right advertisement
We want to make sure that you get the right Referrals and Job Seekers applying for your job vacancies. If it’s a tight spec’ then that’s fine, but clearly set out what you’re looking for and keep in mind the likelihood of your ideal candidate actually existing. Where there are areas of compromise, say so.
Keep on top of things
Through your own MyRec account page you have the facility to keep everyone updated as to the progress of a Candidate once in play with your company. Use this function and keep everyone informed and up to date; trust us, it will make everyone’s experience – including yours - a good one if you do!
Play fair
If you hire a Referred Candidate, it will be because someone has taken the trouble to find your vacancy on MyRec, search through their network, identify someone they know to do the job, encourage and invite them to apply and has kept in touch with them. They will have earned their reward so any attempt to circumvent that is a real no, no!
Mind you, if you’ve hired someone who applied direct to your job vacancy, then lucky you! There’s no Referral Reward to pay out so there’s no Referral Fee to pay!
Talking of Money…
We all know how frustrating overdue payments are and no more so than in a commission based industry. You want to build up your reputation on MyRec as an Employer that it is worth doing business with. Pay your referral fees on time, and you will find that Referrers are more likely to introduce people to your job vacancies than to your competitors.
Job Seekers and Candidates
Be confident you’ll get an interview
Before applying to a job vacancy on MyRec, honestly appraise whether you have the skills for the job, and whether the Employer will welcome your application. If you don’t think they will, then don’t apply. It will just cause frustration for you and the Employer.
Play Fair
If you’re a Referred Candidate that has been hired, it will be because someone has taken the trouble to identify a vacancy, select you from their network, invite you to apply and has kept in touch with you. They will have earned their reward, so make sure you keep them in the loop.
