What is My Recruitment Space?

My Recruitment Space (MyRec) is an innovative, proactive recruiting platform that connects Employers and Candidates from the fields of Recruitment via our International Network of Recruitment Referrers.

Referrers

How do I earn rewards?

By referring a person through MyRec who ends up being hired by an Employer, you will be eligible for the reward attached to the job specification. Simple!

What size of rewards can I earn?

Our minimum reward is £1,600.00 per placement. But depending on the seniority of your candidate and their salary, you can earn as much as £9,600.00 per placement.

What kind of candidates can I refer?

You can refer any of your friends or professional contacts that have an interest or experience in recruitment, for example, Recruitment Consultants, Team Leaders or Researchers. These are your MyRec Candidates.

How do I refer someone?

Simply click on the "Refer a Candidate" button on the jobs that you think will suit your candidates and follow the instructions. All you'll need is your candidates' names and private email addresses.

I know somebody I want to refer but there isn’t a job; can I still refer them via MyRec?

Absolutely.

Refer your candidate to one of the generic jobs listed here on the MyRec Talent Management page, which will take you through the referral process.

Once your candidate then accepts your referral and uploads their CV, a MyRec Talent Manager will contact you to explain how we can help your candidate get a new job and secure you a reward!

How many people can I refer?

You can refer as many people as you like to as many jobs as you like. As long as your candidates meet the specifications of the listed jobs, you'll simply maximise your potential to earn multiple rewards.

What happens if more than one person refers someone for a job?

MyRec tracks each referral via the application process but it is ultimately up to your candidate. If your candidate has received more than one referral, they can choose which one to accept and therefore who gets the reward.

It goes without saying that the better your relationship with your candidate, the more likely they are to accept your invitation.

My referral has given me their CV - can I upload it myself?

No. Your candidate needs to upload their own CV and agree to our terms of business and confirm that they are being represented by you.

Can I keep my identity private when I refer someone via MyRec?

Your identity is automatically kept private from the Employer and your name will not be used on emails to them.

However, it will not be kept private from your referred candidate and the name you used to sign up to the website will be used on emails to your referred candidate. If you hide your identity from your candidate they may not feel comfortable accepting your referral, may turn it down and apply direct. You will then miss out on securing your reward. MyRec advises you to be upfront as to your identity when signing up to the website.

How do I know if my referral has been successful?

MyRec will notify you via email when each referral is successful. You can also log into your Dashboard to view your candidates' progress.

What’s the Dashboard?

Your Dashboard is a colour coded step-by-step account which shows how your referred candidate is progressing in the interview and hiring process.

How can I update my Dashboard?

You cannot update your Dashboard yourself as it depends on the Employer updating each stage. You are advised to keep up close communications with your candidate to keep up to date with their progress.

My candidate has accepted an offer but the Employer hasn’t updated the website – what next?

Find out from your candidate if they have agreed a start date with the employer and if they have resigned from their current company. If all this has gone ahead smoothly and the Employer still has not updated the website, then contact us and we’ll update the website on your behalf.

I referred someone for a job but they rejected me – can I still get my reward if they get a job via MyRec?

No. Only referrers that are validated by virtue of the candidate accepting a referral will be eligible for the reward.

When does my reward get paid?

After the company has paid the fee and your candidate has completed four weeks working with their new firm without their employment being terminated, you will be able to raise an invoice to MyRec and MyRec will send you a cheque!

Candidates

I have been referred to a job on MyRec – what does that mean?

Congratulations! This means that a friend or professional contact thinks you would be perfect for a job advertised on MyRec and wants to bring it to your attention. Hopefully the job will be perfect for you too.

I like the look of the job referred to me – what do I do next?

Click on the first link in the email that you accept the referral and you will be taken to the MyRec website. You will then be able to review the job vacancy and if it suits you, you can apply for the job. Your Referrer will be informed via email that you have accepted their referral.

Do I have to apply for a job that has been referred to me?

No. You can simply turn it down or delete the email.

I have been referred to a job on MyRec by someone I don’t know – can I reject it and apply direct?

Yes you can. If you do not know the sender of the email or do not want the referrer to know that you are applying for the job, you can click on the second link and apply direct and in confidence for the same job. Your referrer will be informed by email that you have rejected their referral.

How do I upload my CV onto MyRec?

Uploading your CV to MyRec is easy. You simply click on the “browse” button and follow the instructions.

CVs must be in Microsoft Word, PDF, RTF or Text Document format.

What’s the Dashboard?

Your Dashboard is a colour coded step-by-step account which shows how your direct applications are progressing in the interview and hiring process.

I’ve been referred for a job but why can’t I see my referral application on the Dashboard?

You can only see your direct applications via your Dashboard.

If you have been referred for a job then your referrer will be monitoring your progress on their Dashboard, so there is no need to double up.

Make sure you stay in contact with your referrer to keep them up to date with your progress!

I am currently employed; will anyone see my CV or details on MyRec?

No.

Your CV is sent to the Employers that you select via you accepting a referred application or by you applying direct.

So your current employer won’t see that you’re looking at other opportunities.

Why should I use MyRec?

MyRec only publishes opportunities direct from the Employer. No third party agencies are involved.

This means that the opportunities are current, up to date and real.

No more applying for a job only to find that twenty other agencies are advertising the same one or that it never existed in the first place.

I haven’t been referred but I can see a job I like - how do I apply directly for a job on MyRec?

First you’ll need to register which takes a second.

Then click on the ‘apply’ button on the job vacancy, upload your CV and MyRec will send it to the Employer.

We keep your name and contact details confidential at this point.

If the Employer asks to meet you, we will then release your contact details so they can contact you to arrange an interview.

If the Employer rejects your application, your contract details will not be released.

I haven’t been referred for a job – can I ask a friend to refer me and get the reward?

You can most certainly get a friend to refer you if you haven’t already applied for the job. If you are successful in getting the job, your friend will be eligible for the reward!

Keep them sweet and they might share it with you!

I don’t see a job I like but I am on the market - can I post a profile and have MyRec find me a job?

Yes, you can.

Simply apply to the generic job vacancy posted on the MyRec Talent Management page. One of our MyRec Talent Managers will then contact you to discuss with you the best way to secure your new job.

Better still, get a friend to refer you to the MyRec job vacancy and if you are successful in securing a new job, they might just share their reward with you!

Why can’t I apply direct for a job and get the reward myself?

It’s just not in the spirit of MyRec.

It wouldn’t be fair to reject a referral from a friend only to apply direct to the same job to get the reward.

Also, Employers want to hire people that are motivated by the job itself, and not because they are tempted by a reward.

Employers

What companies can use MyRec?

Any Employer that is looking to hire Recruitment Personnel can post job vacancies on MyRec.

This includes Recruitment Agencies looking for recruitment consultants, researchers, desk heads etc, or Corporations that are looking for an on-site or in-house recruiter.

It doesn’t include ‘rec to rec’ agencies - sorry. But you can sign up as a referrer and refer people you know through the MyRec website, and still be eligible for a reward.

How can I access candidates via MyRec?

Simply sign up using your personal email address as this will become your personal profile. You will be able to put in a company work email contact address later.

Then go to ‘Post a Job Vacancy’, upload your requirements and choose your payment package.

We will then connect your ad to our international network of recruitment consultants, researchers, directors and so on, who will look through their social and business networks to refer one of their contacts to your job vacancy, or may even apply direct.

How much does posting a job vacancy cost?

As little as £47.00 (VAT included), per job vacancy, per month.

Why should I use MyRec?

Placing a job vacancy on MyRec connects you directly to an International Network of Recruitment Consultants and Recruitment Referrers.

We reward our referrers with substantial, market leading fees, not simply promises of a free beer. As a result, they refer through us.

So, unlike advertising and agency recruitment, MyRec provides you with direct access to those highly sought-after, referred candidates in recruitment, and the means to reach even the most passive of skilled individuals.

If you hire a referred candidate, you will pay a Referral fee that could be as little as 8% of basic salary, in some cases even 6% or 7%.

If you hire direct, without the involvement of a referrer, you pay no Referral fee at all.

So the question should be; why would you not use MyRec?

Does MyRec also connect to passive candidates that are not looking for a job?

Yes.

Our business model is a proactive one whereby our referrers will approach and motivate suitable candidates to consider your job vacancies, even if they are not looking for a job.

I want to keep this position confidential; can I advertise without using my company name?

Yes, you can, but we suggest you don’t as candidates are much less likely to apply to an unknown company.

Why does MyRec charge a fee upon hiring a referred candidate?

Quite simply to reward the referrer for their trouble.

A Referral fee is only due if you have hired a candidate that has been referred to you.

Does MyRec also charge fees for candidates that have applied direct?

No, you do not pay a Referral fee if a candidate has applied to you direct.

I now want to hire someone introduced to me through MyRec – how do I make an offer?

You can make an offer in the traditional manner, verbally and in writing. Best of luck!

When do I update the “hired” status of a candidate from MyRec on the Website?

When the candidate has accepted your offer, has resigned from their current employer and has agreed a start date with you, you will need to update the “hired” status on the Website and put in the start date.

It is important that you put in a correct start date so that the system can apply the correct payment terms to the invoice.

What if I don’t hire the candidate?

If you don’t hire the candidate, please update their status on the website by selecting the button “candidate was rejected”. You will also be asked to select a reason which will be emailed to the candidate.

How can I guarantee the authenticity of the candidate if there is a financial reward involved?

The financial reward acts as an incentive to provide the very best candidates in the market as it will only be paid out if the candidate is hired, meets all the reference checks necessary to satisfy your company’s requirements, and remains employed with you for a period of 4 weeks.

Do I get a refund if the candidate leaves my company?

Yes. If the candidate leaves your company within 4 weeks of start date, subject to our terms and conditions, you will be eligible for a full refund of the Referral fee paid.

When and how will MyRec invoice me?

We will send you an invoice as soon the candidate accepts an offer and agrees a start date with you. Payment will be due 14 days after start date.
